Meta Tags

The <meta> tag defines metadata about an HTML document. This metadata is not displayed on the page, but is machine-readable. It is used by browsers to determine how to display content or reload a page, by search engines to identify keywords, and by other web services (w3schools, 2019).

Taking an example of a website https://www.boohoo.com/. We can view the source page and the meta tags of the website.

We are going to review and compare 2 websites selling energy drinks. Firstly, we have https://www.lucozade.com/ . The page features a minimal look with a large product image and clear description. The price and quantity are enlarged to gain attention of the user as it is one of the most important part of a e-commerce website. The product page also has a promotion banner with free delivery and another stating reliable delivery and easy returns. (Lucozade, 2023) Secondly, we have https://www.yourcoca-cola.co.uk/monster-energy-12-x-500ml/ . The page is similar to the previous, however this page contains more information like reviews about the product by customers, subscription and discounts for subscription , recycling banner for packaging and a product overview about the item.
