8. What is SEO and how is SEO used?

 SEO

Search Engine Optimization or SEO is basically ensuring that a website is ranked highest in a search engine when a particular keyword in a search directory is searched by a user through a search website.

Search engine: Collects and indexes data from the web, then enables the users to search through that data using some method.

Search site: A website with features which users can use to search for information on the web.

Search index: A collection of all the data collected by search engine and user searches.

Search directory: Stores general information about websites (Kent, 2019, p.9).

SEO helps a e-commerce website grow by generating organic visits to the website/online store, possibly increasing their sale of products.
