World Wide Web

In 1989, Tim Berners-Lee revolutionised the world with his proposal for the World Wide Web. He then went on to create the first web browser, server, and web page, as well as the first specifications for URLs, HTTP, and HTML. This groundbreaking work laid the foundation for the internet (The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), 2022).

e-commerce

E-commerce (electronic commerce) refers to all online activity that involves the buying and selling of products and services. In other words, e-commerce is a process for conducting transactions online. To stay ahead of the competition, many business owners are taking their businesses online like B2B, B2C, C2C, B2C and G2C, not only by having a website but by selling their products and services directly through their website and other e-commerce platforms. This allows them to reach a wider audience, increase their sales, and maximize their profits. Additionally, e-commerce provides customers with a convenient and secure way to purchase goods and services.
There are numerous benefits as Affordable and Effective Marketing, Access to Innovative Technology, Personalized Experiences, Scalability, Convenience, Borderless Transactions and many more (Salesforce, 2023).
